Purpose:
To view distant objects, producing an image that is larger than the image that can be seen with the unaided eye. It should gather far more light than the eye, allowing dim objects to be observed with greater magnification and better resolution.
 
Great for:
Hobbyist astronomers or simply people with an interest in the stars. 
 
Features:
Quickly disassembled and resembles through the use of snap joints (like legos)
Lenses are removable but require a screwdriver to do so (4 screws per lens)
When not assembled it can be easily transported in a purse or backpack
A handheld device is less intimidating to new-comers
